Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Yakima Downtown over the Christmas holiday, I found the hotel to be a delightful mix of comfort and convenience right in the heart of the city. The clean, spacious rooms offered a private retreat after exploring local attractions, including a delightful walking distance to the vibrant Gilbert Cellars and Seasons Performance Hall, perfect for my discerning photographer’s eye. The hotel's on-site restaurant, the Garden Grille and Bar, was a standout feature; I indulged in a satisfying breakfast that set the tone for a day of adventure, while the bar provided a relaxed ambiance for evening unwinding. Parking was effortlessly accessible, although I appreciated the nominal nightly fee—it felt like a small price to pay for such central convenience. As an art enthusiast and city explorer, I found the noise from the streets a bit disconcerting late at night. It’s worth considering your comfort level, especially if traveling alone. With that said, the attentive staff were remarkably helpful in guiding us to nearby dining gems, like Cowiche Canyon, enriching our experience with a local touch. I'd recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Yakima for its excellent location, well-appointed amenities, and the welcoming vibe of its personnel. Just be prepared to embrace the bustling life that comes with staying in the city center!
